If the ‘Future Sound of London Conceptual‘ version of ‘Praise’ found Brian and Garry applying a progressive, atmospheric approach to house remixes, then the ‘Concept Dub’ found them returning to Earth and, indeed, the dancefloor. With bassier, chunkier beats, a looped vocal refrain and a sensible runtime, this second remix feels intentionally directed at clubs. As such, it is probably of less interest to the ambient-leaning FSOL fan – it certainly lacks the atmosphere of the ‘Conceptual’ – although the layers of individual samples still lend it a certain spark that much generic dance music of the era lacked.
