2001 Remixes

In summer 2001, the first post-Virgin FSOL website went online. Designed by the Brian and Gaz, after they and their previous web designer parted company, it featured a complex maze of Flash pages in bold colours and psychedelic shapes. Among the numerous pages was a section called The Cosmic Jukebox, featuring various animations, song loops, stories and videos. The Jukebox also featured a page of remixes, which the band had been working on having been given access to EMI’s Harvest Records catalogue. These included ELO’s ‘10538 Overture’ and a track by the Edgar Broughton Band, plus ‘Tonight’ by Supergrass and ‘Paths’ by Robert Miles. The Cosmic Jukebox project became one of many to never really get off the ground, with only two receiving a commercial release. One of these was the Robert Miles track, which became the group’s first released remix in six years.
