Every good dance track needs a radio edit, and this was the first in the FSOL canon. The original track runs to less than five minutes, which is hardly an epic, but nevertheless, this edit was cut to catch the casual listener’s ear and help the track on its journey up the charts.

The bulk of the structure remains, with the opening organ section, a lighter acid movement, and the final acid screech, and it almost works as a piece in its own right. Sadly, it lacks the most intense moments in the final movement, which gives it a slightly anticlimactic feel. Still, as the version of the track most listeners will have heard at the time, and the mix both seen on the music video and the classic Top of the Pops performance, it’s earned its place in history.
