I don’t know which version of ‘Elysian Feels‘ I prefer. The Abbey Road Version is louder, punchier, has a breakbeat much higher in the mix, and even a faster tempo, all making it much more energetic and exciting. But the arrangement is a bit more stop-start than the final mix, and lacks the wonderful cut-up breaks section in the second half. The actual arrangements of the tracks are very different, with plenty of work being done on the piece over the years. After the initial Abbey Road cut was scrapped, this mix turned up on The Otherness and formed the basis of live versions over the years, eventually being fully reinstated on the Abbey Road Version of the album in 2018.

Future Music Magazine ran a remix competition for ‘Elysian Feels’ in 2002, with samples and loops from the Abbey Road Version being given away with the magazine. The magazine picked their favourites for the band to choose a winner from; nothing was ever heard again.
